Dr. Heyward Green is a licensed clinical psychologist. He earned his bachelor degree in psychology and his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Baylor University. He brings to his practice broad experience in a variety of settings including primary health care, as well as more traditional outpatient therapy with children, adolescents and adults. His past experience also has included work in inpatient and residential settings, as well as consultation in schools. Problems addressed include anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress management, adjustment difficulties and other issues. His approach is eclectic and integrative, drawing concepts and interventions from cognitive-behavioral techniques, dialectical behavior skills, mindfulness practices, acceptance and commitment therapy, family therapy and others. His approach strives to be holistic and effective, using observation, insight, occasional humor and practical behavioral applications to make psychological concepts accessible and useful in daily life.
In addition to clinical practice, he has participated in the training of healthcare professionals as a member of the adjunct clinical faculty of the Texas A&M Health Science Center. He has devoted volunteer effort in support of the arts in the Waco community, and has served in other leadership roles in professional, philanthropic and church organizations.
