Dr. Tom Harris is a licensed psychologist. He has been providing mental health services for over 40 years and has been a practicing psychologist since 1981. His experience includes teaching in public schools, colleges, and universities; working in agencies and private practice; and consulting with businesses.
The major decisions in each person’s life often involve issues related to whom to live with, where to live, and what to do. It can be helpful to confer with a professional to develop techniques and strategies which can prove useful in navigating these important decisions. Managing uncertainty, improving stress hardiness, and maintaining healthy boundaries in key relationships are frequently addressed in Dr. Harris’s therapy sessions.
Dr. Harris’s experience in treating anxiety and Depressive Disorders, managing chronic pain, overcoming addiction, making effective career choices, and improving stress management has been helpful in treating the individuals and couples who have been in therapy with him. His therapy approach includes cognitive-behavioral techniques, family-of-origin work, object relations therapy, differentiation/detachment strategies, and family systems therapy. He is a founding member of Waco Psychological Associates.
